TERMS & CONDITIONS

INSURANCE

Orange City Arts will exercise all reasonable care in handling and hanging the art and does have limited insurance coverage. However, Orange City Arts assumes no responsibility for damage or loss to works submitted. Insurance is the responsibility of the exhibiting artist.

AGREEMENT

Works accepted for exhibition may not be withdrawn or substituted before the show's close. Orange City Arts reserves the right to install the works in any manner deemed necessary for exhibition or security purposes.

SALES & REPRODUCTION

Orange City Arts will finalize any sales of exhibited artwork at a price that the artist sets. Sales are subject to a 20% commission, so prices should be set accordingly. Works not for sale must be clearly marked "NFS." The Exhibition will also be available to view and purchase online.

PROMOTION

The Exhibition Sponsor shall use its best efforts to promote and display the Artwork appropriately and professionally. The Exhibition Sponsor shall clearly identify the Artist’s name with all Artwork and shall include the Artist’s name on all publicity images and text for any Artwork exhibited.

PHOTOGRAPHY & IMAGE USE

By agreeing to the Terms, parents/guardians grant permission for their children’s artwork, name and age to be printed on display cards and catalog at the exhibition. By participating in the contest, each entrant grants Orange City Arts the right to use such entrant’s name, photo, biographical information, and publication of artwork in all media for advertising and promotional purposes, as well as on the website or future contests. 

ENTRY POLICIES & PROCEDURES

  • Entrants are age 6 -17 years and and reside in Orange City, Iowa or within a 40-mile radius of Orange City, Iowa. Parents, guardians or teachers may submit on behalf of the youth artist.
  • Enter any art that can have a still digital image taken of it (painting, sculpture, drawing, collage, pottery etc.)
  • Entrants are limited to TWO entries.
  • 2D entries may not exceed 38 in wide x 60 in high in size. 3D entries may not exceed 36 in wide x 36 in high. The sponsor reserves the right to make exceptions to accommodate the display space.
  • Artwork must be original created by the artist, copyrighted material such as Disney, Pixar, celebrities pictures etc. will not be accepted.
  • Submit digital images only for jurying purposes.
  • Submit images online via the submission page. DO NOT MAIL forms or original artwork to Orange City Arts. 
  • Submissions must be quality jpg, gif, png or pdf images – 200 dpi and no larger than 4 MB.
  • The image must be a true representation of the work submitted. Orange City Arts reserves the right to reject work accepted which does not conform to the quality represented by the submission.
  • The exhibition will not display any selected piece that arrives at the venue without proper hanging hardware.
  • Any submission that is considered by Orange City Arts, at its sole and absolute discretion, to be objectionable, in whole or in part, will be disqualified and will not be eligible for entry.
  • Under "Description," include title, medium used and size. (example: Watercolor on paper, crayon on paper)
  • Artists may not substitute or remove artwork accepted into the show prior to the show closing.
  • Terms & Conditions must be agreed by checking the 'I Agree' box to participate in the show.

NOTIFICATION

Artists will be notified of acceptance by email by August 9. Further details on delivery and pick up of accepted artwork will also be given at that time. We will not be accepting or returning artwork through any shipping method unless pre approved by Orange City Arts. Artist will be responsible for shipping costs.

PRIZES

Juror will select a "Best of Show" and "Honorable Mention" in each age category with prizes awarded. Age Categories are:  Ages 6-9, Ages 10-14, Ages 15-17. 

Saturday, August 12, 2023 - All accepted artwork must be delivered to Stadscentrum for display. Proper hanging hardware must be attached to artwork. OCArts reserves the right to not accept artwork for display with out proper hardware.

August 14- 23, 2023- Youth Art Show will be displayed.

Wednesday, August 23, 2023: Awards will be announced at 6 pm, Stadscentrum during Arts on Central. All artwork must be collected after the announcement unless a prior arrangement is made.
